Enable dynamic batching

To enable dynamic batchingAn automatic Unity process which attempts to render multiple meshes as if they were a single mesh for optimized graphics performance. The technique transforms all of the GameObject vertices on the CPU and groups many similar vertices together. More info

, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Edit > Project Settings > Player.

  2. In Other Settings, enable Dynamic Batching.

If your project uses the Universal Render PipelineA series of operations that take the contents of a Scene, and displays them on a screen. Unity lets you choose from pre-built render pipelines, or write your own. More info

(URP), the Scriptable Render Pipeline (SRP) Batcher is enabled by default. To enable dynamic batching instead, go to the URP Asset and enable Dynamic Batching.

Unity automatically batches moving meshes into the same draw call if they fulfill the criteria described in the common usage information.

  1. Check the performance of dynamic batching. For example, dynamic batching often doesn’t produce a gain in performance on consoles, or more recent APIs such as Metal.

For information about how to set up renderers so Unity can batch them, refer to Using draw call batching.
