Unity USD 패키지에는 Unity에서 Pixar의 유니버설 씬 디스크립션(USD)을 사용할 수 있도록 제작된 라이브러리 세트가 들어 있습니다. 이 패키지는 익숙한 직렬화 패러다임을 통해 그리고 USD에 관한 사전 지식 없이도 네이티브 Unity & C# 데이터 타입을 사용하여 USD를 최대한 쉽게 통합하도록 지원합니다. USD는 Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, Katana, Nuke, Modo, Sketchup, Substance Designer, Substance Painter 등과 같은 디지털 콘텐츠 제작 툴 간에 왕복 에셋 워크플로를 구현합니다.
다른 에셋 파일 포맷과 달리 유니버설 씬 디스크립션은 전체 에셋 파이프라인을 지원하고, 에셋 레퍼런스 및 오버라이드를 사용하여 팀들이 병렬 작업을 진행할 수 있도록 만들어줍니다.
이 패키지에는 바로 사용할 수 있는 바이너리와 누구나 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 예제가 포함되어 있습니다.
